  1.             Logitech Windows NT mouse drivers

  4.  This Windows NT mouse driver is still under development and has not been 
  5.  extensively tested. This driver is provided to help Windows NT Beta 
  6.  testers utilize their Logitech mice under the March 1993 release of Windows 
  7.  NT.
  8.  
  9.  This NT mouse driver is provided "as is". Logitech does not warrant that 
  10.  this driver will meet users requirements, or that it will function in 
  11.  combination with other software or hardware which may be selected for use by 
  12.  users. LOGITECH MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATION ABOUT COMPATIBILITY OF
  13.  THIS DRIVER WITH ANY PC-COMPATIBLE PLATFORM. IN NO EVENT SHALL LOGITECH BE

  17.  How To Install:

  20.  Logitech Windows NT mouse driver is provided in a self-extracting .EXE
  21.  file format. After you have downloaded LMOUSENT.EXE, proceed with the 
  22.  following steps:
  23.  
  24.  1] Copy LMOUSENT.EXE to a temporary directory on the hard drive (i.e., \TEMP)
  25.  2] Log onto this temporary directory by typing:
  26.  
  27.  CD \TEMP.............where TEMP is the directory in which LMOUSENT.EXE exists
  28.  
  29.  3] Uncompress LMOUSENT.EXE by typing:
  30.  
  31.  LMOUSENT.............then press Enter
  32.  
  33.  4] Start Windows NT
  34.  5] Select the RUN command from the FILE menu and type in:
  35.  
  36.  C:\TEMP\INSTALL......then press Enter
  37.  
  38.  6] Once the installation is completed, select Shutdown from the File menu
  39.  in order to restart NT and cause the new changes to take effect.
  40.  7] If you experience any difficulties getting your mouse to work with this
  41.  new mouse driver under Windows NT, edit the last two lines of the INSTALL.INI
  42.  by removing the semicolons then rerun the INSTALL.BAT once again
  43.  
  44.  Note: The original mouse driver is backed up to the same file name with the
  45.        .BAK file extension.

  63.  previously supported (before installing this driver) by the old SERMOUSE.SYS

  79.  This driver is compatible with the Windows NT SDK March release.

  81.  Advanced features like orientation for the Logitech TrackMan line of 
  82.  Pointing Devices is not currently implemented.

  84.  Troubleshooting:
  85.  ----------------

  87.  - If the mouse doesn't respond, make sure it that works correctly under DOS.
  88.    
  89.  - This driver is needed if you previously experienced a "jumping" cursor 
  90.    on the screen under Windows NT. 
  91.  
  92.  - If you are using a Serial mouse under DOS, you may have to turn your 
  93.    computer off before restarting Windows NT or unplug the mouse to power 
  94.    it down, otherwise the mouse may not be recognized under NT. An alternative
  95.    solution might be to reload the Logitech DOS mouse driver with the 
  96.    parameter "1200" to reset the mouse to 1200 baud. This can be done by 
  97.    loading the mouse driver under DOS by typing the following command:

  99.            MOUSE 1200
  100.  
  101. *  This is currently due to a limitation of NtDetect.
  102.  
  103.  - You can override the Windows NT detection by modifying the registry. Look
  104.    the Install.Ini file that came with this package and read the comments 
  105.    in this file.
  106.   
  107.  - The installation enables the serial mouse driver. If you need to change
  108.    the state of a mouse driver: 
  109.     
  110.     a. Select DEVICES from Windows NT Control Panel
  111.     b. Select the mouse driver (i.e., Sermouse.sys)
  112.     c. Click the Startup button
  113.     d. You can disable the driver by changing the Startup option to 
  114.        "Disable" or enable it by selecting "System"
